A winter for every age
For three- to five-year-olds, winter is full of little animals that need help: three baby seals pop up through a hole in the ice, lost, or an arctic fox skids up out of breath with a note tied to its collar. From six, winter turns mysterious: the northern lights burn glowing symbols into the snow, or every fox, hare and owl in the valley races past the village in the same direction, and someone has to work out why before it is too late. From nine, the spirits of the ice set trials.
A winter ritual
When it is dark by five, a winter story is a warm moment. Our stories pause at a fork and your child decides: follow the fox, or stay by the fire?
