A mermaid story for every age
For the youngest, mermaids are friends to make: a shy mermaid peeks out once the hero dares to hum, and soon the whole ship is singing her bubbly song; a little mermaid has a birthday and no gift until a crab pinches holes in shells for a necklace. From six, the stakes rise: a mermaid caught in a fishing net, sawed free strand by strand. From nine, whole merfolk cities are under a curse only a brave diver can lift.
