How long should an audio story be?
For three- to five-year-olds, five minutes is plenty: one main character, one clear problem, a happy ending. Longer stories tend to lose them halfway. From six, ten minutes works; from nine, fifteen, and the story can take more twists, with a puzzle to solve or a hero who does not get it right the first time. When you create a story you set your child's age, and the language and the tension follow it.
Why audio, not a screen
Listening asks a child to build the picture themselves: what the castle looks like, how big the dragon is. That is the part of a story that stays with them. It also works where a screen does not, in the car, at bedtime with the lights down, or while they draw. Our stories show one illustration per scene, so a child who wants to look can, and one who wants to close their eyes loses nothing.
Stories they can steer
A normal audio story runs from start to finish. Ours stop at a fork: through the dark forest or across the river? Your child taps a choice and the story goes that way. The choice really changes what happens, and every new story is a different one, so the child who would otherwise play the same story twenty times starts asking where the next one will go.
