Friendship stories for kids, to listen to
Narrated stories where a friendship decides the ending: a brand-new baby dinosaur shivering at the edge of the nest, a robot friend whose memory is fading, two best friends stranded on a muddy island. Five to fifteen minutes, free to play, no sign-up.
No story ends with "and so they learned what friends are for." The friendship happens, and your child sees why it matters.

Friendship for the youngest
Between three and five, friendship is simple: letting someone in. In one of our stories a brand-new baby dinosaur chirps so quietly that nobody notices, until a friend nudges it, little by little, into the warm pile of its sleeping brothers and sisters. In another, a workshop full of robots has no idea what friendship is, until a child twists a little wire bracelet together and slips it onto one robot's wrist, and its chest glows soft pink for the first time.
Friendship that costs something
From six it gets harder. A robot friend's memory chip starts failing, erasing everything the two of them ever built together, and the new chip has to go in exactly right or it wipes everything at once. A rope bridge snaps under two best friends and drops them onto a muddy island; they can only get anyone to notice them by working together. These are the stories children still talk about the next morning.
Friendship that starts somewhere unexpected
From nine, a friendship can start with a rival: the hero races a stranger through an ice maze, then reaches out a hand when the stranger slips at the final turn. Or with a wild dolphin that bolts whenever anyone comes close, until a week of patient swimming, near it but never toward it, earns its trust.
Your child decides
At the important moments the story pauses and your child chooses what the hero does. Let the new kid join in, or not? Afterwards, ask: "Why did you choose that?"
